Historically, Oregon has not effectively tapped federal funding opportunities for state and local priorities. Federal opportunities include grant programs from a variety of agencies, use of end-of-year funds, and congressional designated funds. Exploration of funding opportunities can illuminate opportunities and create dialogue about whether/how untraditional grant sources may be a fit for ocean conservation priorities and creative partnerships.
The Oregon Ocean Alliance is investing time to explore and help secure funding to support coastal and marine conservation from a variety of sources including federal, state and legislative opportunities. At times it will be important for members of the public to help us move these efforts forward. Stay tuned for opportunities for you to help out.
